shade percent: 80 %
habitat notes: In primary forest in loamy soil with lots of leaf litter. We have also seen it growing in very little soil in the spray of a waterfall in Costa Rica, on the wetter Atlantic side of the divide, just as in Panama.
common at this location: Plants are widely spaced; I have not seen many in all.
