- native to: Panama
- comment: One expert calls this vaginalis in spite of the zingiberoid leaves. This is the same as the vaginalis from nearby Gatun.

It looks like a vaginalis here.
But the vegetation doen't fit in the tidy category of cannoid.

- habitat notes: In stream margin surrounded by pasture.
- associated species: Few other heliconias in the area. It has been under cultivation for a very long time, I imagine.
